Bica do Sapato

One of Lisbon's trendy restaurants, in fact so trendy that it doesn't have (or maybe need) a sign.  The entrance is hidden behind a very non descript grey wall.  Once inside, if you haven't already made a reservation you will be greeted and asked in which restaurant you wish to dine.  Bear in mind if it is the weekend, and you have no reservation you probably won't get a table at all.  They have a restaurant, a sushi bar and what they call a cafeteria to choose from.  We opted for the cafeteria, and trust me it is far from what most people would call a cafeteria.  Crisp white linen, smartly dressed waiters, floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the tejo.  The food on offer was excellent and not too expensive, most mains were in the region of 15EUR.  By the time you factor in starters, wine etc, it is by no means a cheap night out and should you choose the upstairs restaurant then expect to pay around 28EUR for a main.  It's other claim to fame is that it is part owned by Actor John Malkovich.  We had a very enjoable night and it's a great place to people watch as it is frequented by the beautiful people of Lisboa!
